CurrencyFundraiser.com purchases collected currency materials directly from participating organizations. Payouts are calculated according to the categories below and are based on verified currency material received.
All materials are weighed and evaluated upon receipt. Payout is based on verified currency weight following removal of non-currency items.
Mixed International Coin
Base rate: $5.00 per lb
Applies to diversified, travel-sourced mixed foreign coin.
- Weight is measured upon receipt using calibrated digital scales.
- Non-currency items (tokens, washers, scrap metal, etc.) are excluded from payout weight.
- Shipments consisting primarily of a single country or low-recovery currency may be valued separately at the applicable recovery rate.
U.S. Coin
85% of face value
Face value is calculated by weight using standard U.S. Mint specifications.
- Mixed household U.S. coin is accepted.
- Shipments consisting primarily of low-denomination coin (including pennies and nickels) may be subject to adjusted handling percentages to reflect processing cost.
Foreign Banknotes
70% of successfully exchanged value
Applies to modern, exchangeable foreign banknotes.
- Payout is based on net value successfully exchanged.
- Obsolete, demonetized, or unexchangeable notes may have no recoverable value.
- Bank conversion spreads and exchange fees are included in net value calculations.
Bonuses
Bonus tiers are available for clean and high-volume drives. Bonuses apply to mixed international coin valuation only.
Clean Stream Bonus
+5%
Applied to consolidated shipments with minimal non-currency material and proper packaging.
Volume Bonus
- 25–49 lbs: +2%
- 50–99 lbs: +4%
- 100+ lbs: +7%
Volume bonuses apply to base mixed international coin valuation.
Shipping Policy
Prepaid shipping materials are provided for consolidated shipments of 20 lbs or more.
For qualifying shipments, we provide:
- Prepaid Priority Mail shipping label
- Shipping box
- Collection bag
Shipments under 20 lbs may be sent using a trackable shipping method at the organization’s discretion.
All shipments must be securely packaged. Shipment weight is determined upon verified receipt.
Payment
Payment is issued within 7 business days of completed processing. A detailed payout summary is provided with every payment, including:
- Verified weight received
- Category breakdown
- Applied bonuses
- Any applicable adjustments
